Sculpture of Eddie Gilbert was offically unveiled at the Inaugural Queensland Indigenous Sports Awards on Saturday, 13 October 2007.

In a moving ceremony, the sculpture was unveiled by Eddie Barney the son of Eddie Gilbert, Eddie Barney's daughter Anita, and the Artist, Pauline Clayton.
