THURSTON & HODGES REPRESENT QUEENSLAND |
Johnathan Thurston starred in Queensland’s 30-0 thrashing of New South Wales in the second State of Origin match last week, kicking seven goals.
Thurston and fellow 2007 award nominee Justin Hodges both represented Queensland in the first State of Origin game. Unfortunately Queensland went down to New South Wales 18-10.
Hodges was missing from the team in game two after being suspended for six weeks for a dangerous throw.
Greg Inglis, Carl Webb and Sam Thaiday have also played for the Maroons.
Thurston also recently represented Australia in the 100th anniversary game, celebrating the first League Test between Australia and New Zealand. He kicked four goals in the Kangaroos 28-12 win over the Kiwis.
Australia Post are celebrating the Centenary of Rugby League with a set of 16 stamps, one for each club in the competition this year. The North Queensland Cowboy’s stamp features an action shot of Thurston.
