QUEENSLAND INDIGENOUS SPORTS AWARDS 2008 The Queensland Indigenous Sports Awards will be held again in 2008. At this stage no date has been set but the proposed timing of this year’s event is mid to late October and will possibly be held in either Townsville or Cairns. Last year’s Awards were a huge success with Johnathan Thurston winning the Eddie Gilbert Medal. This year the event will coincide with the first ever Queensland Indigenous Sport Symposium which is being planned for the day before the Awards. We will keep you up to date with the progress of these events as the year goes on.
