HUGHES IMPRESSES IN ROUND ONE

Weightlifter Davina Hughes impressed at Round one of the QWA League and Masters League on February 23. She placed first in the Open Female 58kg category with a total lift of 147kg. She lifted 62kg in the snatch and 85kg in the clean and jerk. She was awarded 55.566 points for her lift. Points are decided as a percentage of World Record Total, relative to the bodyweight category she is in. Points are deducted for lifts under their personal best by more than 5kg. Bonus points are added for new or equal personal best lifts and six successful attempts.
